We’ve been working side-by-side since Profile was founded in July 2018, building a tight-knit team that shares a passion for helping farmers get better results.
While each of us manages a different part of the business, the real strength lies in how we work together. Whether it’s problem-solving, planning, or pushing through busy seasons, we back each other every step of the way — and we have a lot of laughs in between.
Meet the Team
Don Henderson
Don has accumulated 28 years of experience in the fertiliser industry, specialising in product design, machinery design, and general co-management.
His expertise extends to various aspects of the industry, making him a valuable asset in navigating the complexities of fertiliser production.
Alix Chittock
Alix manages the fertiliser manufacturing at both Pahiatua and Dannevirke plants. He manages the entire production process — from purchasing raw materials to manufacturing and organising cartage from factory to farm. Keeping all the moving parts working together is no small task, but it’s a challenge Alix takes in his stride.
Alix is also the Manager and Chief Pilot at Tararua Heliwork Ltd, bringing valuable leadership and operational expertise to the team. His practical engineering skills are an added asset, helping to keep the manufacturing plants running smoothly and efficiently.
His background in farming, engineering, and business management ensures Profile runs like a well-oiled machine.
Joan Henderson
Joan began her Chartered Accounting career 37 years ago in Tauranga. When the family moved to Auckland, she continued in Chartered Accounting while also gaining extensive and valuable experience across a wide range of industries and business environments.
Even while working as an accountant, Joan remained actively involved in Don’s business ventures. Her practical, common-sense approach to both accounting and business management is one of her greatest strengths.

Soil Science Advisor
Gordon joined Profile in 2021 as our soil science advisor, bringing decades of scientific expertise to our Research and Development program. Recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading soil scientists, Gordon works closely with farmers to help them improve soil fertility, pasture health, and productivity.
Combining science with real-world farm consultancy, Gordon plays a key role in ensuring our products deliver results — both in the lab and on the land.

Tararua Heliwork Ltd
Manufacturing & Logistics Partner
Alix and his Heliwork team have been part of Profile from the beginning.
Profile’s first manufacturing plant was constructed in a purpose built shed at the Heliwork base in Pahiatua. We outgrew that shed so we expanded and leased a shed in Dannevirke.
Heliwork also operate their Helicopter business from Dannevirke so they are able to manage the manufacturing and logistics for the Profile business from both premises.
